The Tourism Unit of Northern Tasmania Development acts as the Regional Tourism Authority for northern Tasmania.
Tourism Development Manager

Maryana hails from Auckland, New Zealand and moved to Launceston in May 2007 with her husband. She started her new role as Tourism Development Manager shortly afterwards, having worked in a number of several different fields in New Zealand, including six years in the wine industry, including being part of the wine brand management team for Foster’s New Zealand assisting with the Australian and New Zealand wine portfolios, and managing the Champagne and Port brands.Her key responsibilities include managing the activities of the Tourism Unit in partnership with others to facilitate the the development of a sustainable tourism industry in Northern Tasmania. She views her role as providing a valuable operational link to the tourism industry, potential investors, local government and the wider community in respect to Tourism and to attract tourism investment. She is also the Project Manager for the 'Launceston, Tamar and the North' Zone Marketing Group, and sits on the East Coast Zone Marketing Group as the secretariat, as well as working closely with the Tasmanian Visitor Information Centre network and Local Tourism Associations.Maryana says that she and her husband enjoy discovering the different parts of Tasmania, and she believes northern Tasmania is a stunning destination with much to offer including friendly locals with a huge passion for their beautiful home. She enjoys sampling the amazing fresh produce and wine from the region, and trying her luck in the kitchen at converting some of these finds into fabulous meals when the time permits.

Tourism Development and Marketing Officer  | Liz Schibig-Edgar
Liz and her family are recently arrivals to northern Tasmania, and are very pleased to be able to call Tassie home. Liz says she is conotinually amazed by the gems that she discovers on an almost daily basis; the astoundingly beautiful scenery, the wonderful food and wines, the rich heritage and the lifestyle that northern Tasmania has to offer. She comes from an extensive background in hotela nd resort management in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. She also has experience in International Development. Upon her return to Australia, Liz's most recent role was with the Hepburn Regional Tourism Association, the peak tourism body in the Hepburn Shire, VIC with Daylesford at it's hub. This expereince brings different and relevant perspectives to her role as Tourism Development and Marketing Officer. As Tourism and Development Marketing Officer for Northern Tasmania Development, liz will assist in the facilitation of inudstry development and tourism related marketing programs that will best support the tourism industry of northern Tasmania to ensure ongoing growth and development.
